Ms. Brooks holds a Master of Arts Degree in Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counselling from the University of South Florida. Her professional experience entails extensive work in the areas of clinical therapy, counselling, behaviour change, mental health, substance abuse prevention and rehabilitation, homelessness, community development, HIV/AIDS, with specific areas of expertise in treating anxiety, depression, relationship issues, women’s issues and health-related psycho-social issues as well as working with at-risk youths.

She is an effective communicator and adapts her style and techniques according to individual needs and personalities. She truly enjoys the challenges and rewards of working with different people and find her work incredibly rewarding. It is her passion to promote positive behaviour change in persons, especially young people, that has led her to become a co-founder of the Jamaica Mental Health Advocacy Network JaMHAN.
