Our team at Caribbean Tots to Teens has a professional, working relationship with many local Paediatricians, general physicians and school administrators. We appreciate and welcome referrals, however we DO NOT require a referral to schedule an appointment for a child, teen or young adult to be seen by our Psychologists/Counselors, Dietitian or Paediatric Surgeon. Parents or guardians can simply schedule a FREE Discovery Call or contact our eDesk at 876 978 8535. We are also available on WhatsApp at 876 499 0574.

Frequently Asked Questions
The first appointment can typically be booked within a week. However, it depends a lot on the flexibility of your schedule.
To help ensure that you and your child will have a successful first session with our Dietitian, you can carry with you the following: the child’s referral (if any), their Child Health and Development Passport, any recent lab test results and bottles of nutrition formula or supplements/vitamins regularly taken.
N.B: The Child Health and Development Passport is a handy booklet given to parents by local public health doctors and nurses in ante-natal counselling sessions. It is completed by parents, heath care professionals and early childhood institutions based on observations and examination of the child’s progress. The purpose of the booklet is to store information about the growth and development of a child from birth to 17 years old. The booklet was officially implemented into our local healthcare system in September 2010.
A psychological assessment is a one time series aimed at deeply and comprehensively investigating a child’s functioning in the area that is being questioned (socio-emotional, cognitive, educational or behavioural). The information is then placed in the context of the child’s reality and recommendations are then made to help the child in the best possible way.
Therapy is a continuous interventive and collaborative process that is focused on helping the child resolve specific issues, challenges or difficulties.
Please bring your child’s medical records and any imaging studies (eg. Ultrasound report) to the first appointment with the Paediatric Surgeon. You should try to bring the original studies with you, if possible. During your first session, our Paediatric Surgeon will examine your child. If surgery is required, it will be discussed and then scheduled at a later date.
We offer a FREE 15-minute Discovery Call where you will be able to discuss your concerns. We will then discuss how child counseling can help and what we would do to address your child’s needs. We want you and your child to be as comfortable as possible throughout the counseling process. At our office, we provide a friendly atmosphere for them to share all their thoughts and feelings. Our free call is a great way for you to learn more about our various services before making a commitment.
Yes. At Caribbean Tots to Teens our healthcare professionals will work with multiple children from the same family. It would very beneficial to have one counselor who knows your family’s history and the family dynamics. We will also make every attempt to schedule your children’s appointments in back-to-back slots so that you only need to make one visit to our office each week.
Yes. However, we prefer to have a parent or legal guardian present at the first session.
For sessions with the Psychologist/Counselor an informed consent form must be signed by the parent or legal guardian before the first session. This form can be found on our website. Click here for our informed consent forms.
Our services may be covered by health insurance, but you should check with your child/teen’s insurance provider to verify what their plan does or does not cover, and what your portion of the cost will be.
Caribbean Tots to Teens currently accepts cash, debit and credit card payments, cheque, as well as Direct Deposit.
